My Congregation Finally Has a Website!

Thanks to my wonderful wife, my home congregation finally has a website.  Here is the link.

It isn’t very exciting right now, but I’m just glad to have it up and running.  I just finished the “What We Believe” section, so please let me know if you see any mistakes (spelling/wrong verse numbers/etc.).

On The Lighter Side…

As my job is constantly evolving, I am now doing grapic design work for my boss’ new screen printing business.  Here are some designs I did for the youth group at my congregation:

A Note About Comments On This Blog

I just wanted to let any of my readers/regular commentors know that I’ve made some changes to the comments system of this blog.

From now on all comments will have to be approved by me before they show up.  I know that this will somewhat stifle the free-flow of conversation, but I’m willing to deal with that.  I have repeatedly tried to explain that this blog is not designed to be a place of contentions, bickering and the like.  If that is what you want, I trust that you know of other places where that is acceptable, and you can go there to do that.

I am willing to answer questions and engage in meaningful dialogue.  I am not willing to debate every minute point for days on end.  I have too much going on these days to deal with what amounts to foolishness.  I am not angry with anyone, I just don’t have the time to deal with that kind of stuff, nor do I have the inclination to do so any longer.  I write these articles to try and help people and to strengthen my brethren.  I don’t want the message of the articles to be lost on a new reader as the discussion following the article devolves into childish arguing.

Some things to keep in mind – if you disagree with something I’ve said, but are certain that your mind will not be changed, then just move along.  There is no need to start a fruitless argument here.

Little “one-liners” as comments will not be approved.  I recently deleted 3 comments that were basically saying “I know you are but what am I?”.  That kind of comment will not be allowed.

Asking questions is encouraged here.  That said, if you refuse to acknowledge the answers and essentially spam me with an endless barage of questions, jumping from topic to topic, your comments will not be allowed.

Long, rambling, incoherent posts will not be allowed.  The only person allowed to bloviate here is me.

I hope that everyone will understand and respect these limits on discussion.  If things improve, perhaps I will go back to allowing all comments through without moderation.  For now, it appears to be a necessary change.
